These brushes are fabulous, and a great beginning to a collection. They are dense and full with great ergonomic handles. The handles are shorter than the brushes that are sold singly, but I think they're easier to manage. I agree with the the other review that the case is basically useless for holding anything other than the brushes themselves, but I'm still giving it 5 stars, as this is a great set of brushes, with or without the case.

The brushes were really cool but the case was useless, the little tiny zippered pocket does not have enough room to fit any make up.

I recently decided that I wanted to get some nice brushes, but didn't want to spend .. per brush at a speciality make-up store. I had heard great things about the Kashuk Tools, so I decided to check them out. I wanted an eye shadow blending/crease brush, but they discontinued the individually packaged black handled Kashuk tools one a few months ago for some reason, and that is what drew me to this set, because it is there!

I got the set and am very happy with my purchase. These are the nicer brushes (vs. the white handled brushes) and the lash/brow groomer has the metal teeth. I just wish that the eye shadow brush had a bigger head. It is just a little smaller than the individually packaged black handled small Kashuh Tools eyeshadow brush.

I also want to point out that they have changed the case. It is now a nice black on black case with a subtle animal type pattern. It is a hard case and looks like an over-sized sunglasses case. It does not have anything to hold the brushes in place though, which could be a good or a bad thing, given the problems that many people had with the brushes not fitting in the holders.

I highly recommend this product, although I wish that Kahuk Tools had individually packaged medium eye shadow brush (only have small and large) and a eye shadow blending/crease brush.

I will be upfront and say that I have just recently gotten in to MU, so I only have a few brushes to compare these to. However, I find that these brushes are like the long-handled black SK brushes but with shorter handles. I personally like the shorter handles and find them more convenient. The brushes feel soft, and I find them easy to work with. So far, I have washed them a few times and have noticed no shedding. They re-shape okay (although not as well as my synthetic hair brushes).

I thought my pouch was fine. From looking at the reviews I wonder if maybe some people got defective pouches? My pouch was easily able to fit the brushes. I was also able to fit a mascara and several lip glosses into the zippered pocket without issue although I admit that they weren't that thick (like half an inch). I am not crazy about the fake snake-skin design of the pouch. IMHO, I think it's a bit ugly but not enough to be bothersome.

I gave the set 5 stars because even ignoring the pouch these brushes are good and a good deal; they are much less expensive than buying all the equivalent long-handled counterparts.

I LOVE this Makeup brush Set! It's perfect for Travel and The Hard, purse-packable slim case being the big sell for me!
The quality of these brushes are fantastic- especially the eyelash/brow comb- the teeth are metal and able to comb out industrial sized mascara clumps so i can bat my beautiful lashes! I like the curvy molded handles too!

I can't speak for the previous reviewer (perhaps their case was indeed faulty) but I thought the individual pockets were stretchy, they held them all- there was even an extra pocket for my favorite retractable lip brush!

My one request is that Sonia Kashuk/Target include a concealer brush next time... because that's my second favorite.most necessary tool!
